Software Programmer

Capron Company is currently looking for an experienced senior Java application developer (contractor) to create a comprehensive, in-house, engineering application on our internal web server. The contractor will work closely with our engineering group to implement an engineering design application for building control systems. The primary development work will be done remotely with the contractor's own development environment via broadband internet access. The contractor will be required to attend video conference meetings during our regular working hours.
 
The contractor will also provide back-up support for application releases and Linux server administration. In addition to the primary application development, the contractor will evaluate and improve the internal company intranet site style sheets (CSS) and presentation layer (Velocity scripts).
 
Experience with J2EE Web application development is required, and experience with XWiki, Velocity, Groovy, and/or MySQL is considered very positive. Ability to work remotely with a strong work ethic is a must, along with good communications skills and attention to detail.
